Brantford Kinsmen Ribfest

Entertainer Application Guidelines

• Submission of an Entertainer Application Form does not guarantee the entertainer will be offered an opportunity to participate at event. Applications are reviewed by the Entertainment Coordinator and our Entertainment Roster is voted on by the steering committee. You will be notified of acceptance by the Entertainment Coordinator who will be your direct contact.
• Performance times are assigned by the Entertainment Coordinator, not selected by the Artists/Bands. Whenever possible and within reason, we do our best to work with the desired talent’s availability/schedule.
• Events will take place rain or shine. Entertainers agree to be present despite weather conditions in order to receive payment.
• Brantford Kinsmen Ribfest supplies staging, front of house and backline sound equipment, lighting and a qualified technician at no cost to the Entertainment. All Artists/Bands are responsible for providing their own personal performance equipment, including guitars, keyboards, amplifiers, drum kits, et al.
• Prior to the Event, Artists/Bands will receive an e-mail confirming performance times, directions to the entertainment/service entrance, parking (parking pass if applicable) and Main Stage location. Entertainers must be set up and have vehicles moved from the event area no later than 30 minutes prior to the event starting. Failure to do so may result in the entertainer being removed from the site and service fees not paid.
• Entertainers must come prepared to dolly their equipment onto the site as stage locations may vary.
• All Artists/Bands are required to check-in at the stage area one hour prior to scheduled performance time and be prepared to set-up equipment and soundcheck(if applicable) 30 minutes prior to scheduled performance time.
• Brantford Kinsmen Ribfest is not responsible for damage, loss or theft of property belonging to Artists/Bands and entourage before, during or after the Event.
• Entertainers are not permitted to sell/distribute promotional materials unless otherwise approved by the Entertainment Coordinator.
• The Entertainment Coordinator has the right to inspect the entertainer’s equipment at any time before, during and after the event.
• Entertainers agree to allow use of videos and photographs taken at the event for promotional purposes with no monetary compensation. Any photos taken at the event are property of the event.
• Installation and operation of any exhibits not approved by your Entertainment Coordinator are prohibited.
• Entertainers are hired contractors, not representatives of Brantford Kinsmen Ribfest and therefore are NOT permitted to broadcast announcements or act as Master of Ceremonies. Mentioning and thanking of a confirmed Entertainment Sponsor is accepted and encouraged..
• Entertainers are required to provide a short biography and headshot/logo to the Entertainment Coordinator upon request.
• Artists/Bands are NOT permitted to bring outside alcohol into the Event grounds or consume alcohol on the Main Stage during the festival/performance. Alcohol may be purchased and consumed in the Beer Garden before/after your performance and during set breaks.
• Successful entertainers may be required to submit an invoice listing the event name, date, time and location, along with who the payment is payable to, after they are selected.
• Entertainers will receive payment immediately upon the completion of their performance, in the form of a cheque.(unless otherwise agreed upon)
• Brantford Kinsmen Ribfest is a SMOKE-FREE EVENT. No smoking on the festival grounds.
• Failure to abide by these rules may result in the entertainers’ removal from the event and them forfeiting their fee.

General Liability Insurance

• Most entertainers will only have to use the PARTICIPANT RELEASE AND WAIVER FORM attached to the bottom of the Entertainer Application Form.
• But some entertainers may be required to supply a copy of General Liability Insurance listing the Brantford Kinsmen Ribfest, and the Kinsmen Club of Brantford Inc. as an additionally insured party with a minimum of $2 million coverage. This will be determined by the Entertainment Coordinator.
• The Certificate of Insurance Form must be completed, stamped and signed by the insurance agent (not broker).
